Bought:A Need So Beautiful by Suzanne Young
I heard so many glowing reviews about A Need So Beautiful that I knew I had to pick up a copy to see what all the fuss was about. You can see my review of A Need So Beautiful here.
Hourglass by Myra McEntire
Let me just start by saying that I love the cover and that it is insanely soft. Secondly, I love novels that involve time travel and that Hourglass certainly delivers; Hourglass also definitely serves up the cute boys. ;) You can see my review of Hourglass here.
Shadowcry by Jenna Burtenshaw
Shadowcry was a book that I'd only seen mentioned on a few blogs and reviews of Shadowcry seemed even harder to find. After reading the synopsis, I decided that I had to read Shadowcry and I was pleasantly surprised to discover how much I liked it! You can read my review of Shadowcry here.
Haunting Violet by Alyxandra Harvey
By now you know that I'm a sucker for historical fiction and that I adore the paranormal genre; put them together and you have Haunting Violet which turned out to be a pretty good read. Have I mentioned that Haunting Violet also has an incredibly gorgeous (and soft) cover? Because it definitely does--and it's appropriate at that! You can read my review of Haunting Violet here.
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Originally I'd gotten the e-ARC of Blood Red Road because that's how badly I wanted to read it. However, between being on my computer to read it and failing to get past the accent, I decided to wait for its release before actually reading it; as it turns out, this was the correct decision because it was much easier for me to get over the accent when I read the hardcover. You can see my review of Blood Red Road here.
Received for Review:
Dark Souls by Paula Morris
A huge thank you to Scholastic Inc. for sending me this book! I've already read it and quite enjoyed it at that. I still need to finish typing up my review on it, but I'm definitely looking forward to sharing my thoughts on Dark Souls with you!
The Sixes by Kate White
It seems like it'll be along the lines of Dominance, which I've quite enjoyed and because of that, I decided to give it a go. A huge thanks to Harper!
The Lantern by Deborah Lawrenson
It's a mystery that takes place in France. Done. Also, I'm in love with the cover. A huge thanks to Harper!
Triangles by Ellen Hopkins
Perhaps not my usual cup of tea, but I'm definitely looking forward to reading this one! Thank you so much Atria!
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
And last, but certainly not least, The Night Circus. Ever since I've seen this book mentioned on other blogs in Waiting on Wednesday posts, I knew that I had to read it. Thanks to Shelf Awareness and Doubleday, I managed to get a review copy! This came with a matching bookmark and a sheet with the cast of characters written on it as well. I nearly danced in excitement when this arrived! Actually, I'm currently reading it and I'm about halfway through. So far I'm definitely loving it!
I also got swag from Suzanne Young this week; thank you so much Suzanne!
Lastly, here's a bonus shot of the books that I bought this week without their dust jackets on. ;) A Need So Beautiful is actually not that light in color, it's more of a gold.
And that's what I got in my mailbox this week! Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to do a vlog this week, but I'll definitely have the time next week; at the moment, I've got to run though so I shall see you all on Monday when my crazy weekend comes to an end. I will, however, be checking out your IMM posts during any downtime I get tomorrow.
So, what did you get in your mailbox this week? :D
