Yes, it's that time of the week again! It's Follow Friday which is hosted by Parajunkee. The question of the week is:
It's circle time. Time for us to open up and share. Can you tell us FIVE quirky habits or things about you?
2. Certain words will always have movies, songs, or musicals associated with them (well, to me). An example? The word masquerade will always make me think of the song Masquerade from Phantom of the Opera.
3. If I didn't organize my TBR pile, nothing would ever get read because I go through reading "moods."
4. If I'm going to wear sandals, I have to paint my toe nails.
5. I have enough hair on my head for two--or maybe three--people. I call it "happa" hair (I'm half Asian and half Caucasian). Seriously, it's got a lot of volume, it's thick, and it's wavy so you never really get to see how long it is.
Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jen over at Crazy for Books and the question of the week is:
If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?
My immediate answer to the question would be Wildefire by Karsten Knight and well, the place would be Blackwood Academy. Why? Because it's exactly like what I wanted high school to be--and literally living amongst gods and goddesses wouldn't exactly be a bad deal either (Ashline would provide endless entertainment, that's for sure). It's not out yet (Wildefire), but when it does come out in July, I hope you'll see what I mean. :D
When it comes to books which are currently out though, then hands down I'd choose Harry Potter as I'd definitely love to visit Hogwarts-although I'd prefer to visit it during the Marauders era. It's not that I have anything against Harry, but I think it'd be more interesting to visit Hogwarts during a time period that J.K. Rowling hasn't really written much about.
Stopping by from FF and a new follower =)
ReplyDeleteI share the same quirky habit, #2.
-Mocha from A Cupcake and A Latte: YA Reads, Reviews & More!.

Old follower stopping by-I have the same thing as your number 2. For example, whenever I'm halfway through something, I almost always sing (and always think!) "Oh! we're halfway there...oh! Living on a prayer!"
ReplyDeleteHey stopping by from Follow Friday. I wish I had your hair, lol. Am a new follower, come check out mine!

Hey, new follower here! I share your quirk #3. I love quirk #2, now I have to go get out my Phantom of the Opera CD out and listen to Masquerade =).
ReplyDeleteMy Quirks :http://ange-moonlightreader.blogspot.com/
I'm like that I love sleeping during the day and being up at night. My co-workers say I'm like the vampires I read in my books
ReplyDeleteNew follower from the Hop!
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't participate in FF, I have to say that #1 and #2 on your list describe me perfectly. To this day I can't say the words "It's 6:00" without thinking of "God, That's Good" from Sweeney Todd. It's kind of sad, really.
Anyway, I chose Diagon Alley as my location. Here's the link:

I am not familiar with this book. There are a lot of great responses to this question and I can see why one would enjoy a school like that, particularly to be entertained thus. I chose Narnia from Chronicles of Narnia. Come by to see why.

Hi & Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI have listed my answers here :) http://obsessionwithbooks.blogspot.com
Have a great weekend..
I like to sleep during the day too. I always sleep best from like 4/5am till 12/1pm. I always hear Masquerade in my head as sung in Phantom of the Opera too haha!
ReplyDeleteThe Cait Files
I've been mulling over this question now for about three hours. Picking just one is never easy for me. I've read so many wonderful books over the years. Come see what I chose.

Hi! New Follower.
ReplyDeleteI wish I organized my TBR list maybe then I would stop buying books & realize I have more books to read than I possibly get to. I have the same issue with the sandals :)
Harry Potter world has been popular today. I'm not sure which world I would live in.

ReplyDelete*blushes* I'm really bad about wearing sandals and NOT painting my toe nails. Or letting them go so long they are chipped beyond belief...I always forget to do them until it's time to leave to go somewhere!

I'm such a morning person, there's no way I could sleep in the day... well, maybe an ocassional afternoon nap, but I'm not an up all night kind of person.
ReplyDeleteCan I tell you how obsessive-compulsive I am with my TBR list on Goodreads? I tend to organize and re-organize it just about every day.
Wildefire sounds really interesting! I'm hoping it's better than the Goddess Test, which I'm reading now, and surprised to see it's not as magically god-like as I'd hoped. Not that's it bad... I just thought the gods in it would be less subtle.
I love staying up late. I get my best work done after dark! New follower
ReplyDeleteMy TBR pile is getting ridiculous; I really need to start organising it better.
ReplyDeleteI prefer sleeping in the day as well, but unfortunately that's not an option most of the time because my house is so noisy!
Have a great weekend!

Haven't read Wildefire, but I plan on it! I've never read the Harry Potter series...I know, I know. So I can't say I would want to go there.

ReplyDeleteHappy Hop Day!
ReplyDeleteNew Follower :)
I like the first quirk but if I thought I could get away with it, I would never sleep. I always feel like I'm going to miss something.
I have the same quirk with words. Mine usually relate to songs.
ReplyDeleteHere's mine:

Gotta agree with your HP sentiments. I just dig the backstory of the Marauders and I would die happy if Rowling would publish an official sequel.
ReplyDeleteI agree love staying up at night its so much quieter, I can read or get anything done I need to.
ReplyDeleteFollow Friday and Blog Hop
Oh, God, yes! I have to have my toes painted. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour hair sounds awesome! :D Those were some awesome quirks. New follower.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from the Blog Hop.
