Top Ten Tueday: Sites/Blogs NOT about books that I follow

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and this week's topic is: the top ten blogs/sites that I follow which are NOT book related.

Warning: You're about to see a lot of links to Tumblr blogs--well, probably. Also, the list is in no particular order.

1. Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab
Go to this site. No, really, I'm not kidding. They're a small perfumery based out of Los Angeles (commonly referred to as "BPAL") and their scent range is astounding. If you can't find something that you like on this site, it's because you've been overwhelmed by the selection. Need further incentive? There are scents based on: Alice in Wonderland, Neil Gaiman's books (he collaborated with them, for the record), Labyrinth (yes, the movie), Lovecraft, and oh, did I mention that Erin Morgenstern, author of The Night Circus, is collaborating with them at the moment? (No, they haven't posted those on the site as they're still in the works.) And the craziest part? I've barely touched on everything that they have on the site. For the most part there are samples available (at a price) but not for Limited Edition blends (butterflies currently) nor the ones where money is donated to charities.

If you live in the Los Angeles area, there's Will Call once a month (on the night of the full moon, usually but see their "Events" page) at which you can sniff most of the blends and dab them as you please upon your person--but you may want to take notes about what you've applied where as you can go into scent overload. There's also Will Call in Seattle as well (again, see the Events page). Not only can you sniff the scents there, but there's also usually prototypes out to sniff and although you can't buy the prototypes (or usually Limited Editions if they've just been released within the month), you can buy pretty much any of the other scents present (just talk to someone who works with them).

Wait, I'm not done! Their scents? They can smell like perfume, sure, but sometimes they smell like dead leaves, bonfires, hot chocolate, and so forth. If you're overwhelmed or curious about a scent, head over to their forum and see the reviews that have been posted there or you can check out their recommendations forum. And if you couldn't tell by now, I love BPAL and yes, I'd recommend them to you. For soaps, massage oils, room/linen sprays, nail polishes, and more you can check out their sister site (run by her husband), Black Phoenix Trading Post. P.S. They sell really gorgeous scent lockets too.

2. Daily T-Shirt Roundup
Okay, if you follow me on Twitter, you might see me talk about t-shirts sometimes and these t-shirts that I talk about are generally related to video games, movies, shows on TV, etc. The website I just mentioned will show you what sites have what shirts up for that particular day as well as the time schedule for when the t-shirt is due to change. (Generally pricing wise, it's between $10-16)

3. Eff Yeah Writer Leopard
Think writing related problems in meme form and you have Eff Yeah Writer Leopard.

4. OCD: Obsessive Corgi Disorder
Also known as Corgi Addict, it's exactly what the title says, it's a Tumblr account dedicated to Corgi pictures. I know I don't talk about it all the time, but I have a Corgi obsession--and yes, at some point in the (hopefully) near future, I intend to get myself a Corgi.

5. Geekologie
A site full of interesting (sometimes exceedingly strange) articles, videos, and so forth that are indeed geeky (or nerdy, depending on the piece you're looking at).

6. Geo
No idea what to title the link to her site. She's an artist who doodles Sherlock, Doctor Who, The Avengers, and so forth. She also has a few bookmark images that can be used on there too--I need to print out the Loki one soon... SOON. *plots* (Also, not NSFW, but you might not want to mouse over the header if you are offended or dislike doodled penises. Yes, I totally just said that. No, I am not kidding. Also, no, they are not detailed; they're merely there.)

7. Are You Trying to Deduce Me
Again, another Tumblr I don't know what to call--she does change her url and blog's title on occasion. Cara is responsible for the Sherlock, Doctor Who, Hunger Games, etc. teas on Adagio and she also posts a ton of Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, and other fandom related things. Here's the link to her Sherlock tea blends on Adagio--if you click on one of them and scroll down, you can see other teas that she's also created.

8. Haus of Gloi
So, if you're into bath and body stuff, I'm pointing you to this site. Why? They ship quickly, they're vegan, the scents are amazing, and the products are very high quality--but won't necessarily cripple your wallet. I'm a chocolate and coffee gal at heart and they happen to have a scent called Vice that I wouldn't mind drowning in. No, really, it smells that good. I should probably also mention that not everything that they sell smells like food; there really is a range of products and scents.

9. melwantsalokihug
Yes, another Tumblr blog and as the title suggests, there's a ton of Loki on her blog... and a ton of Tom Hiddleston as well--which would be why I follow her. My name is Kristin and I have a Tom Hiddleston addiction. In an attempt to not wax on poetically about the man, I'll just tell you that I think it'd be impossible in a bad mood around him, his laugh is adorable, and he's a very good actor--by my standards. (Warning: Can be NSFW--text wise--at times. Don't tell me I didn't warn you!)

10. The Beauty Department
Because I'm no make-up artist and I need all the help I can get.
