Yes, it's that time of the week again. Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and encourages book bloggers to follow other book bloggers--because yes, multiple opinions are a wonderful thing.
Alas, I've been rather quiet this week--although I did finish my review of Trickster's Girl by Hilari Bell, I've got it scheduled for closer to the book's actual release date (January 3, 2011). I'm currently half way through The Vespertine and that review probably will be up in January (ie. closer to its release date--March 2011).
The question of the week (from Parajunkee) is:
If you have, or would have a daughter, what book would you want your daughter to read?
Honestly? I'm not too sure. I'd really want my daughter--if I had one--to be able to pick her own books to read--although okay, I'd really push for her to read the Harry Potter series.
Hopping through. I'd like the kid choose her own books, but it's nice to have books to share together. especially Harry Potter. New follower!
ReplyDeleteJust hoppin' on by! I'm an old follower <3
ReplyDeleteI'd want my daughter to pick her own books as well. While I'd screen some of them according to her age, I wouldn't be too restricting. I want her to be able to read material that she thinks will help or inspire or influence her in some way. Or just books that she think she'll love. But I do agree, I'd push her to read the HP series also! XD

Just stopping by, I agree Harry Potter is a must.
ReplyDelete@Alison;
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by! And I completely agree; I think it's important to let any kid decide upon the books they want to read. Of course, I do hope that the books are age apropriate--or the subject content isn't too adult in nature.
@Kristina;
Most definitely! Honestly, I'd just try and subtly push my daughter to read instead of spending a lot of time online or playing video games.
@AngelicNytmare;
Hey there! :D And yes, most definitely--although I'd probably really want my daughter to like Harry Potter (though I wouldn't try to force her to like it).
Just stopping by through Follow Friday. Harry Potter seems to be a popular choice but I guess that is because it is an awesome book!

Hopping through for FF.
ReplyDeleteI'd want my daughter to pick her own books too. It worked for me, because I could read what I wanted I really loved reading.

ReplyDeleteI'm here for the blog hop and Follow Friday! I just love these. Answer for the Hop is an IPad or Kindle. Answer for the Follow Friday is: The books I would chose would be Dr. Suess' when she was young then as she grew older I would definitely recommend the Nancy Drew and Trixie Beldon books! I loved them when I was young. Here my links and you can find me on facebook too!
