Waiting On Wednesday (3)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Falling for Hamlet by Michelle Ray

Summary from GoodReads:
Falling for Hamlet retells the familiar Shakespearean tragedy from the point of view of a feisty, empowered Ophelia, who is neither suicidal nor anybody’s pushover. In a glittering world of celebrities, paparazzi, and reality TV, Ophelia navigates the minefield of teen life in a royal family gone crazy.

Why am I looking forward to Falling for Hamlet? Honestly, it sounds interesting and well, I'm not exactly known for my ability to read Shakespearean plays in their original form--which means that I find this to be a lovely alternative (although I'm not expecting it to align perfectly with the original Hamlet). Okay, okay, so I'm also in love with the cover--and the little snippet of Falling for Hamlet that I read out of Little, Brown Books for Young Readers catalog.

Falling for Hamlet comes out on July 5, 2011 and is published by Poppy--a part of Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.

So, what are you waiting on this Wednesday? :D

  9. The Storm Before Atlanta
    By Karen Schwabach
    Publication date: December 28, 2010

At a time when most people have grown weary of the war between the states, two young children are desperate to find their way to the battlefields. Jeremy DeGroot wants nothing more than to join a troop as a drummer boy. For Dulcie, a runaway slave, freedom means she must head directly toward the fighting in the hopes that she'll become "contraband," that is, property of the Union troops. Both Jeremy and Dulcie find a place with the 107th New York Volunteer Regiment and even start to forge a friendship. But all that is threatened when they keep crossing paths with the mysterious Charlie, a young Confederate soldier, who may look like the enemy but feels more like a friend.
